Folksy Theatre are delighted to be performing their musical adaptation of Jonathan Emmett’s “The Princess & The Pig’. There’s been a dreadful mix-up in the royal nursery. Priscilla the princess has switched places with Pigmella, the farmer’s new piglet! The kindly farmer and his wife believe it’s the work of a good witch. The ill-tempered King and Queen squarely blame a bad witch. It’s the sort of thing that happens all the time in fairy tales!
Bring along your picnics, blankets, folding chairs & friends & family to enjoy this wonderful open-air production, filled with music, and puppetry!

Witty, inventive and bursting with fairy tale fun. From the creators of the award-winning THE SANTA TRAP.

The Twelfth Night  – by William Shakespeare

Twelfth NightTuesday 15th August & Wednesday 16th August  Shakespeare Production starts 7.oopm

Folksy Theatre will be touring in summer 2017 with a production of one of Shakespeare’s most famous comedies, Twelfth Night. Two twin siblings, Viola and Sebastian, are separated in a shipwreck and Viola takes on the appearance of a man to be accepted to work in Duke Orsino’s household. It is here that the fun begins. It is a play about mistaken identities, about love and the madness it can drive us to. The production will be filled with Folksy’s touch of live music, bold characters and audience interaction. Bring along you picnics, blankets and folding chairs to enjoy this wonderful open-air performance.

Story summary.

Outrageous high comedy ensues as the pangs of unrequited love affect the unforgettable characters of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. While the lovelorn Duke Orsino plots to win the heart of the mourning Olivia, an alliance of servants and hangers-on scheme against the high-handedness of Olivia’s steward, the pompous Malvolio. When Orsino engages the cross-dressed Viola, who has disguised herself as a young man under the name Cesario, to plead with Olivia on his behalf, a bittersweet and hilarious chain of events follows.
