Rarely seen Calceolaria, with masses of bright orange red flowers. Known as the pouch flower or slipper flower. Flowering from June through most of the Summer. The plant is best sited in full sun in a sheltered position, also looks great in pots on the patio.
The plant is hardy, (apparently to -12,) but in cold winters best to protect with fleece. Or if planted in a pot, bring inside into a conservatory or green house.
Recommend cutting back to half height in late July if looking a bit tired and then again at the end of flowering in late October / November.
You are buying a good size plant similar to the one displayed in the photo, grown in a 2 ltr pot size.
