Dense evergreen clumps of strong pleated mid-green leaves. Conspicuous pale green flowers. Seed heads are dramatically spiky which are very popular with flower arrangers.
It looks good grown towards the front of a border or among other plants, especially compact perennials and grasses. It also looks good grown at the edge of a pond.
Grow in moisture-retentive soil, can be grown as a marginal or bog plant in sun or light shade
