A lovely Review

Stonyford Cottage Gardens – a delight of an attraction situated in the picturesque region of Cheshire

We collaborated with the myhotelbreak.com. They visited us here at Stonyford Cottage Gardens and you can find out what they discovered in this guest blog edition:

We had heard of Stonyford Cottage Gardens through a few of our guests who were staying at our hotels in Cheshire. They had mentioned it was a real secret gem of an attraction and one of the highlights of their trip. As we were in Cheshire for a few days visiting some friends we were really intrigued.

Let’s find out more…

We had looked more into it and as fans of nature and gardens we thought this was the perfect place to come and relax on our last day. Visiting at the end of August 2019 meant we got some sunny weather which was a bonus.

We were really wanting to visit a place where we could relax and truly get away from it all for a couple of hours and the Cottage Gardens ticks all these boxes.

The Gardens

We started the visit with exploring the gardens. They were truly fantastic. If you’re wanting to get away from the stress of everyday life for a while and enjoy peace and serenity in a tranquil setting then this is it.

As avid gardeners ourselves, meandering our away around this green lush space, we really were in our element.  From the well-kept flower beds, the ponds and animal life surrounding us it’s a fantastic place to come. We spent around 2 hours here and could have spent more if we’re being honest with ourselves. It was surprising to have such a lush area right here in the valley in Cheshire and for us; it’s a place to be proud of. We had taken part in the guided tour where we learned more on the plants and the gardens in general. This is something we highly recommend as it gives you a real insight into the ethos and passion the people of Stonyford have for their gardens and nursery.

The Plant Nursery

As we went on our discovery through the gardens we had seen a huge variety of plants that not only looked lovely, smelled fantastic but they were plants which we wanted for our garden too.  The shop is stocked with all the plants you could want. For those looking to improve their garden for 2020 then visiting the nursery at Stonyford should be on the cards.

The Tea Room

After the exploration in the gardens and nursery we were really hungry and wanted some well-earned lunch.  The tea rooms are great with friendly staff, lots on the menu and clean throughout. It was a good place to come to end our visit here.

Events

There are also a huge range of events on at Stonyford throughout the year. Click on the above link to find out what’s coming up in the coming months. We suggest the Halloween Trail & Ghoulish Gardens event happening in October.

Conclusion

A secret gem is used a lot but in this instance it’s perfectly true. It’s a great place to come on your next break in Cheshire. We can’t recommend it enough.
